There are truly few things better than warm apple crisp.  :)

Ingredients:

Apple mixture:

  • 6-8 mixed variety apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 c water

Topping:

  • 3 c oats
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup butter, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C).
  2. Apple mixture: Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan. In a separate bowl, mix the sugars, flour, and cinnamon together, and sprinkle over the apples. Pour water evenly over all.
  3. Topping: Combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes.

Gluten free: I use Gluten-Free Pantry's Beth's All-Purpose Gluten-Free flour in place of the all-purpose flour, and it comes out great.

Enjoy!
