There are truly few things better than warm apple crisp. :)
Ingredients:
Apple mixture:
- 6-8 mixed variety apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1/2 c white sugar
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 c water
Topping:
- 3 c oats
- 2 c all-purpose flour
- 2 c packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter, melted
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C).
- Apple mixture: Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan. In a separate bowl, mix the sugars, flour, and cinnamon together, and sprinkle over the apples. Pour water evenly over all.
- Topping: Combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble evenly over the apple mixture.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 45 minutes.
Gluten free: I use Gluten-Free Pantry's Beth's All-Purpose Gluten-Free flour in place of the all-purpose flour, and it comes out great.
Enjoy!
