Takikomi Gohan is a Japanese rice dish. Its name means rice cooked including something. The name of the variable ingredient that is cooked with the rice is added as a prefix. For example, Chicken Takikomi Gohan would have chicken in it.

The rice becomes infused with the taste and smell of the additional ingredients, and the ingredients themselves are steamed without losing juices or their nutrients.

All the recipies listed here is written under the assumption of several things.

  • Rice: Short Grain "Japanese" Rice. I have not tested any of these recipies under other varieties of rice.
  • Rice Cooker: An electric rice cooker is assumed to be used. The recipies can be made in a pot, but the cook must adjust times accordingly.
