Tilapia mezcal

Ingredients

  • 4 Tilapia fillets
  • 1 or 2 habanero peppers
  • 4 serrano peppers
  • 4T worcestershire sauce
  • 1 oz. tequila
  • 4T butter
  • 1t each of thyme, basil, cayenne pepper
  • 2t crushed red pepper

For a less spicy version, remove the seeds and ribs from the habaneros before chopping.

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F
  2. Chop habaneros & serranos

Directions

  1. Lay tilapia fillets in shallow baking dish, season with thyme, basil, cayenne pepper and crushed red pepper
  2. Sprinkle chopped peppers on the fillets, and add 1T butter to the top of each
  3. Splash worcestershire sauce and tequila over the fillets and cover with foil
  4. Broil in oven for 45 minutes (or until fish is flaky & tender)
